President Trump Administration Sued Over DEI, Gender Orders.

February 19 2025

Civil and Human Rights Organizations Sued the Trump Administration on Wednesday over its Executive Orders targeting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs. The law suit was filed by the Legal Defence Fund and Lambda Legal on behalf of the National Urban League, the National Fair Housing Alliance, and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago. The law suit alleges that President Trump Administration is infringing on the organizations’ right to free speech and due process that has caused the organizations to adopt DEI.

The law suit also referred to Trump’s Executive Order that bears the title ‘Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government’. The president and director-counsel of LDF Janai Nelson said President Trump’s Executive Orders has the intention to tie the hands of organizations to providing legal services to those who need them most in a press release. The lawsuit emerged when three Executive Orders were filed in January that called for an end to all federal DEI and agencies were asked to sack staffs working on such initiatives.
